DCMS has allocated up to GBP 4 million of research and development funding to projects that develop and build pilots to connect the hardest to reach areas of the UK using the water network as a conduit for fibre connectivity, named as the Fibre in Water (FiW) project. This briefing note provide guidance to telecoms companies, utility providers and engineering companies to apply for, lead and deliver the FiW project.
